Reedsport

On a recent trip to Reedsport, we discovered the best cookie place - hands down. The Sugar Shack. It is located on Hwy 38 on your way into town from Elkton. The Shack features many options from cookies, pastries, donuts, and even a turkey sandwich. You've got to check it out.

La Pine

On our way to Lakeview for training, we stopped off in La Pine for lunch. We went with a place called Kathy's Kitchen located on the west side of 97 on the south side of town. Kathy's Kitchen gets a thumbs up for three reasons: 1) breakfast is served all day, 2) the restaurant sells tasteful artwork (well, cheesy pictures shellacked onto pieces of wood), and 3) fun craft painting art in the ladies bathroom (sorry guys).

There is also a good drive through coffee place located just across the parking lot. The coffee is good and cheap, although will most likely drip on you, so be sure to ask for a napkin.

Intro to this Blog

Hiya folks,
You may be wondering how this here blog came to be. Keavy and I, on one of our voyages to eastern Oregon, passed the time by dreaming about the various food places we would visit in between our various meetings over the week. Because the drive is so long, we really had a chance to plan out of culinary itinerary for the week. We got the idea that having a website with staff recommendations for food, lodging, and coffee across the state. So that is what this blog will be - your guide to all things culinary and lodging-related. If you have recommendations you'd like to add, let me know!
Enjoy!
